Southern Cross Linedancers

I have choreographed many Line Dances over the years, most recently (along with Kate) Cowboy & Clown, Overdrive & Good Morning Beautiful all the way back to dances such as She Said Yes & Gypsy Lady. Kate and I  hold 12 Line Dance classes a week across Sydney’s south western suburbs & also run at least 3 socials regularly every month. We are  also regularly invited to workshops & events around
Australia.

Part of running a successful Line Dance group also involves training a successful competition group of
up to 20 dancers and the choreographing the routines for competition. We were recently very successful
in the 2007 Australian Line Dance Championships held at Tamworth in January, taking home 19 different
section medals in all, Gold, Silver & Bronze.

In my spare time I play competition chess and will accept any challengers, anywhere, any time, both online
and in competition forum.

Golf is good too!!  If a trip can possibly involve riding a motor bike… count me in!!!

As part of the 2006 Australian Line Dance Awards, presented at Tamworth in January this year, I was
both very proud & honoured to receive the award of Choreographer of the Year, but Kate owns half,
because every dance I choreographed last year was in collaboration with Kate.

Thank You

Hi my name is Mark Simpkin & I first started Line Dancing in 1991 and started instructing classes in 1993.

I formed Southern Cross Line Dancers, together with Tracie Lee, in 1994 and now continue to operate Southern Cross Line Dancers with my new wife Kate (we married on September 1st 2007), while Tracie operates her own club, Dance Fever.
